M28 復活とは何か

今回は、マニュアルから第28節の復活をご紹介します。
復活の別の呼び名
復活は、救済、贖罪、最後の審判、時間の終わり、癒しの成就、キリストの再臨、等々、その側面に応じてさまざまな呼び方をされる、幻想に囚われて我を見失った状態から脱して神の子としての自覚を取り戻すというコースの目指す同一の最終プロセスを生命と死の観点から表現したものです。
通常の復活のイメージは十字架にはりつけられて死んだイエスが人の姿でよみがえったことと同じように捉えられて、この世界で死んでこの世界によみがえることとして発想してしまいます。
けれど、コースが目指すのは、私たち人の子の復活ではなく、神の子が自分が本当にいる天国に目覚めて復活することです。
私たちを主人公とする物語を読んでいる神の子が現実に帰ること
はてしない物語の終盤、ファンタージエン国で、自分の首からアウリンを外して地面に置いたバスチアンは、陰陽二匹の蛇が守る生命の泉に飛び込んで、ファンタージエン国で得た姿を失い現実世界へと帰還します。
バスチアンは、現実に帰ったあと、再びファンタージエンに訪れることにはなりますが、それを称して復活というわけではありません。
コースで言う復活が意味するのは、バスチアンが生命の泉に飛び込んで本当の姿を取り戻し、現実に帰ることです。
私たちは本当に、エゴになりきっているので、この観点の逆転を簡単に見失ってしまいます。
たびたび皮肉をこめて述べているように、エゴである私たちは救われるべき対象ではなく本質通り無として消え去るべき幻の存在なわけです。

What Is the Resurrection?
復活とは何か。
1. Very simply, the resurrection is the overcoming or surmounting of death.
きわめてシンプルに言えば、復活とは、死に打ち勝って克服することです。
It is a reawakening or a rebirth; a change of mind about the meaning of the world.
復活とは、再び目覚めて生まれ変わることであり、世界の意味について心が変化することです。
It is the acceptance of the Holy Spirit's interpretation of the world's purpose; the acceptance of the Atonement for oneself.
復活は、世界の目的についての聖霊の解釈を受け入れることであり、自分自身のために贖罪を受け入れることです。
It is the end of dreams of misery, and the glad awareness of the Holy Spirit's final dream.
復活は、悲惨な夢の終わりであり、聖霊が最後の夢を見せてくれることを喜んで自覚することです。
It is the recognition of the gifts of God.
復活は神からの贈り物を認識することです。
It is the dream in which the body functions perfectly, having no function except communication.
復活とは、身体がコミュニケーションをとることだけを唯一の役目として、その役割を完璧に果たしているという夢です。
It is the lesson in which learning ends, for it is consummated and surpassed with this.
復活を学ぶことで学習は終わります。というのも、この学びによって学習は完結して修了するからです。
It is the invitation to God to take His final step.
復活は、神に最後の一歩を踏み出してくれるように招待することです。
It is the relinquishment of all other purposes, all other interests, all other wishes and all other concerns.
復活は、それ以外のほかのすべての目的、ほかのすべての利益、ほかのすべての願い、そしてすべてのほかの心配事をひとつ残らず手放すことです。
It is the single desire of the Son for the Father.
復活は、子がただ父だけを望むことです。
2. The resurrection is the denial of death, being the assertion of life.
復活は生命を肯定することなので、死を否認することです。
Thus is all the thinking of the world reversed entirely.
こうして、この世界のすべての思考は完全に逆転させられます。
Life is now recognized as salvation, and pain and misery of any kind perceived as hell.
生命はいまや、救済として認識されます。そして、いかなる種類の苦痛や苦悩も、地獄として認識されることになります。
Love is no longer feared, but gladly welcomed.
愛はもはや恐れられることはなく、喜んで迎え入れられます。
Idols have disappeared, and the remembrance of God shines unimpeded across the world.
偶像たちは消え去り、神の記憶が遮られることなく世界の隅々までを照らします。
Christ's face is seen in every living thing, and nothing is held in darkness, apart from the light of forgiveness.
生きとし生けるものの中にキリストの顔が見えます。そして、何ものも、赦しの光から離れて闇の中に保たれることはありません。
There is no sorrow still upon the earth.
もはや地上にはまったく悲しみは残っていません。
The joy of Heaven has come upon it.
天国の喜びが地上に訪れたからです。
3. Here the curriculum ends.
ここでカリキュラムは終わります。
From here on, no directions are needed.
ここから先は、何の導きも必要ありません。
Vision is wholly corrected and all mistakes undone.
ヴィジョンが完全に修正され、すべての間違いは取り消されました。
Attack is meaningless and peace has come.
攻撃は意味を失い、平安がやってきました。
The goal of the curriculum has been achieved.
カリキュラムの目標が達成されたのです。
Thoughts turn to Heaven and away from hell.
さまざまな思いは、地獄に背を向けて天国のほうを向いています。
All longings are satisfied, for what remains unanswered or incomplete?
すべての希望は叶えられました。というのも、答えられていないものや不完全なものは何ひとつ残っていないからです。
The last illusion spreads across the world, forgiving all things and replacing all attack.
最後の幻想が世界中に広がってゆき、あらゆる物事を赦してすべての攻撃に取って代わります。
The whole reversal is accomplished.
完全なる逆転が完了したのです。
Nothing is left to contradict the Word of God.
神の大いなる言葉に逆らうものは何ひとつ残っていません。
There is no opposition to the truth.
真理に対立するものは何もありません。
And now the truth can come at last.
だから、ついに今こそ、真理が到来することが可能になります。
How quickly will it come as it is asked to enter and envelop such a world!
そのような世界に入り込んで世界を包み込んでほしいと頼まれたなら、なんと速やかに真理はやってきてくれることでしょう。
4. All living hearts are tranquil with a stir of deep anticipation, for the time of everlasting things is now at hand.
生きているすべての心たちは、永遠に続くものを今まさに手にしようという時が迫っていることへの期待に深く心をときめかせて静まり返ります。
There is no death.
死は存在しません。
The Son of God is free.
神の子は自由なのです。
And in his freedom is the end of fear.
そして、神の子が自由になることで、恐れが終わります。
No hidden places now remain on earth to shelter sick illusions, dreams of fear and misperceptions of the universe.
いまや地上には、病んだ幻想や、恐ろしい夢や宇宙の誤った知覚などを匿う秘密の場所は、どこにも残されてはいません。
All things are seen in light, and in the light their purpose is transformed and understood.
すべてのものは、光の中で見られるようになります。そして、その光の中で、すべてのものの目的は変容され、そして理解されます。
And we, God's children, rise up from the dust and look upon our perfect sinlessness.
そして、私たち神の子供たちは、塵の中から立ち上がり、自分たちの完全なる罪の無さを見つめることになります。
The song of Heaven sounds around the world, as it is lifted up and brought to truth.
世界が持ち上げられ、真理の下へともたらされて、天国の歌声が世界中に響き渡ります。
5. Now there are no distinctions.
いまや、いかなる区別もありません。
Differences have disappeared and Love looks on Itself.
さまざまな相違は姿を消し、そして、大いなる愛が自分自身を見つめています。
What further sight is needed?
これ以上、目にすべき何があるというのでしょうか。
What remains that vision could accomplish?
ヴィジョンが達成しうる何が残っているというのでしょうか。
We have seen the face of Christ, His sinlessness, His Love behind all forms, beyond all purposes.
私たちは、あらゆる目的を超えて、あらゆる形の向こう側にあるキリストの顔を、キリストの無罪を、キリストの大いなる愛を見たのです。
Holy are we because His Holiness has set us free indeed!
キリストの神聖さに自分たちを真に自由にしてもらえるとは、私たちはなんと神聖なのでしょう。
And we accept His Holiness as ours; as it is.
だから、私たちは、キリストの神聖さをわがものとして、ありのままに受け入れます。
As God created us so will we be forever and forever, and we wish for nothing but His Will to be our own.
神が私たちを創造してくれたのだから、私たちは永遠に創造されたまま果てしなく在り続けるでしょう。だから、私たちは、ただ神の大いなる意志だけを自分のものにしたいと望みます。
Illusions of another will are lost, for unity of purpose has been found.
神の意志とは別にほかの意志があるという幻想はもはや去りました。なぜなら、私たちには同じひとつの目的しかないとわかったからです。
6. These things await us all, but we are not prepared as yet to welcome them with joy.
このようなことが、私たちみんなを待ち受けています。しかし、私たちにはまだ、それらを喜びをもって迎え入れる用意ができていません。
As long as any mind remains possessed of evil dreams, the thought of hell is real.
不幸な夢に取りつかれたままの心が残っているかぎりは、地獄という観念は本物であり続けます。
God's teachers have the goal of wakening the minds of those asleep, and seeing there the vision of Christ's face to take the place of what they dream.
神の教師たちは、眠りこんでいる者たちの目を覚まさせて、彼らが夢見ていたものの代わりに、キリストの顔のヴィジョンを見るという目標を持っています。
The thought of murder is replaced with blessing.
殺したいという思いは祝福によって置き換えられます。
Judgment is laid by, and given Him Whose function judgment is.
価値判断による裁きは手放され、価値判断を役目とする聖霊へと渡されます。
And in His Final Judgment is restored the truth about the holy Son of God.
そして、聖霊の最後の審判によって、聖なる神の子についての真理が回復されます。
He is redeemed, for he has heard God's Word and understood its meaning.
神の子は救われました。というのは、彼は神の大いなる言葉を聞いて、その意味を理解したからです。
He is free because he let God's Voice proclaim the truth.
神の子は自由です。なぜなら、神の子は、神の大いなる声に真理を宣言してもらうことにしたからです。
And all he sought before to crucify are resurrected with him, by his side, as he prepares with them to meet his God.
そして、彼が以前には磔にしようとしていたすべての者たちが彼と一緒に復活して、彼の傍にいるので、彼はそれらの者たちと一緒に自らの神に会う準備を整えることになるのです。
